Every engineer who has shipped an autonomous system knows the moment. Something works perfectly in the lab. Every test passes. Then it hits the real world, and it falls apart.
More often than not, localization is where it breaks. A design that holds up on the bench starts drifting the second conditions change. GNSS drops in an urban canyon, a sensor disagrees with the others, the atmosphere above your rover stops looking like the atmosphere you calibrated against. The average accuracy still looks fine on a spec sheet. It’s the excursions, the tail of the distribution, that put a mower in the flowerbed or a vehicle a lane off from where it thinks it is.
This is one of the more difficult and unglamorous parts of building anything that moves. And it’s the part almost nobody talks about. So we built the conference we’d want to attend, for the people building location systems for Physical AI.
FUSE is a technical conference for the localization field. One day, one track, no product keynotes. Every session is led by an engineer or technical leader who has actually deployed at scale, walking through their architecture, their design patterns, and the failure modes they hit along the way.
The speakers are founders and technical leaders running companies solving real localization problems in production. In San Francisco that includes Brian Schimpf (Anduril), Sven Strohband (Khosla Ventures), Satya Mallick (OpenCV), and Eyal Cohen (Humble Robotics) — with more to come.
In Toulouse, the lineup includes Hassan Bouchiba (Exwayz), Alain Henry (Alta Ares), Philippe Robert (iNGage), Adrien Gharios (SNCF), Clément Busuttil (Neuronaix), Patrick Dehlinger (Rob’Occ), and Joel Korsakissok (Syntony GNSS).
FUSE is also a global series. We’re starting with two events in 2026:
